About Murmur Woods

Murmur Woods is a logic-driven puzzle game built by a single developer, with the help of modern AI tools.

At its core, this game is about deduction under uncertainty: all clues are true, information is partial, and progress is only possible through logical inference. There are no lies, no shortcuts, and no guessing — only reasoning.

To make a project of this scope feasible for one person, AI was used as an assistive tool, not a replacement for design or decision-making.

  • All visual assets were generated using Nano Banana, allowing rapid exploration of tone, atmosphere, and character variations.
  • Most of the code was developed with the help of Gemini 3 and Cursor, speeding up iteration while keeping the logic and structure fully under human control.

Using AI in this way made it possible to:

  • prototype and discard ideas quickly
  • iterate on puzzle structure and UI without a large team
  • focus time on clarity, balance, and logical consistency

This project is also an experiment in a broader idea: that small, thoughtful games don't need large teams, and that modern tools can empower individual creators to build complete experiences — from concept to release.

A new puzzle is generated every night at 10 PM (New York time). Each day is designed to stand on its own, inviting quiet focus rather than urgency.

If you enjoy Murmur Woods, you're not just playing a puzzle — you're seeing one possible future of indie game development.

About the Developer

I'm a web developer by background. Before working independently, I spent several years building large-scale products at ByteDance and Alibaba, focusing on complex systems, data-driven interfaces, and user-facing reliability.

I'm now working as a freelance developer, exploring smaller, more focused projects — especially games and tools that reward careful thinking rather than fast reactions.

Murmur Woods grew out of that shift: a desire to build something quiet, self-contained, and logically precise, without the overhead of a large team.

Thank you for spending your time here.
